APU’s BSc (Hons) Actuarial Studies offers Double the Advantage with a Dual Award from De Montfort University (UK), maximum exemptions from IFoA and SOA to attain associateship and fellowship and enrich global community.
In 2018, Asia Pacific University joined the top universities worldwide to receive full IFoA accreditation for its BSc (Hons) Actuarial Studies. With the accreditation, APU students who achieve the required standard can be eligible for maximum exemptions from CS1, CS2, CM1, CM2, CB1 and CB2. The exemptions significantly reduce the time and effort required for the graduates in attaining their associateship and fellowship.
APU’s Actuarial Science programme fully accredited by the IFoA, UK and recognized by the SOA, US.
APU is one of a few IFoA’s partner universities in Asia to secure major IFoA scholarships for its students pursuing actuarial studies. Every year, the top five graduates will receive the Foundation’s Scholarships (worth £4490) awarded by the IFoA. In addition, the best among the five will also receive the Sir Edward Johnston Prize (worth £250). These scholarships will play a role in easing the financial burden of students as they complete the remaining examinations in the future.

Other than providing knowledge and guidance in our coursework, lecturers shared their experience and encouraged us to spend independent learning time to develop skills needed. I’m grateful for the facilities provided and opportunities given to learn as much as possible,” said Wendy.

At the recently concluded Hackathon organized by the Malaysian Actuarial Students Association (MASA), APU teams bagged all the top 3 winning positions. It is also a strong testament of the quality of APU programmes as well as the capabilities of APU students, to compete among the best Actuarial & Data Science talents in Malaysia.
According to the latest Annual Graduate Tracer Study by the Higher Education Ministry, 100% of APU graduates were employed upon graduation. This is a significant symbol of APU’s success and pride in nurturing professionals for global careers.
